Ashiastu Barefoot Massage

When broken down, the word “ashi” means foot and “atsu” means pressure.
Ashiatsu is often less painful than deep pressure techniques that utilize the practitioner’s finger or elbows.
The broad surface of the foot makes the deep pressure of Ashiatsu to be far less painful because the pressure is spread out over a larger surface area.
The therapist balance herself by holding onto hand bars overhead.

The benefits of ashiatsu are the same as regular massage benefits.
• Increases circulation (blood, lymph, and nerve).
• Improves muscle tone.
• Decreases stress and tension.
• Causes chronic hypertonic muscles to relax.
• Lengthens muscle tissue.
